Going to the Chapel with Clear Skin

With June on the horizon, you might say we’re walking down the aisle towards the month of weddings (queue the bubbles and Canon in D major). With all that wedded bliss on the horizon, you might expect there would be stress or two. Or 20.

Emma Bing from Hollywood, Calif., knows all too well. A beauty blogger at dailyglow.com and whattoexpect.com, this past February she married her King. It was a lovely day.

But for years, Emma did a lot of self-proclaimed frog smooching before finding her Prince of Skincare.

Suffering from acne horrible acne since her teenager years (we’re talking back, chest, face), she turned to Accutane.  Four rounds later her skin finally calmed down.  Now 28, she gets breakouts for all reasons–hormones, stress, chatting away on her cell all day (don’t worry, girl, we’re guilty of it too). Regardless of the reason, her oily skin usually wins.

Not on her Big Day.  With her wedding on the horizon (we’re talking invites mailed and seating charts planned), Emma wanted to make one thing clear…blemishes weren’t on the guest list (even if they did buy off the registry).

From the Stop Time Night Cream to the Day Brilliant Lotion (her fave) and all the washes, serums, mists and polishers in between, this “go big or go home” girl bought the entire clickR line before her wedding.

Here’s what she told us of her wedding skin woes and how clickR helped.

clickR: How stressful did the wedding planning get?
Emma: Planning a wedding was fun. I wasn’t stressed at all. My biggest concern was looking good. I had amazing hair and makeup teams, but there isn’t enough makeup in the world that can cover a big angry zit. When the light hits it, it’s the center of attention, no matter how much cover up is on it.

clickR: So you weren’t taking any chances on your already temperamental complexion.
Emma: Of course Murphy’s Law says you breakout before your wedding. It’s life. I broke out mostly on my cheek and jaw area. Not cute. I went on a mission via Sephora.com to find products that wouldn’t irritate my skin but that would also fight the blemishes. I found clickR and ordered literally every product available. I love the fact that they’re gentle, but also work. It kicked the zits’ butt but also moisturized and made my skin glow. There were no ugly dry flakey red patches. Just calmer and clearer skin.

clickR: As a beauty blogger, you also have a professional stake in good skin.
Emma: I feel like I need to have clear skin. It’s part of the job. I started out as a model/actress and it was also a huge factor in my life then. Your skin is the first thing people really notice.

clickR: Do you think good skin creates confidence?
Emma: One hundred percent without a doubt. When you feel like your skin looks radiant, you feel much more confidant. But bad skin shouldn’t be the end all of self-confidence either.

clickR: You might say, you should take the goal of good skin with a grain of wedding rice.
Emma: It shouldn’t rule your life. Just because you have a zit or two does not mean it’s the end of your world. Just find products that work for you. clickR worked for me, and my skin and I are extremely grateful.

Congrats to all you lovely June brides and handsome grooms. May you have clear skies and clear skin.
